Vanilla And Berry Breakfast Smoothie

Dec 13, 2015

As you know, I’m rather obsessed with smoothies in the morning.

Mainly for 3 reasons:

#1 – They take two minutes to knock up so they’re ideal in the morning when extra minutes in bed are so desired!

#2 – They taste awesome and never get boring. There’s always an ingredient switch you can make to make your smoothie different from one morning to the next, but to be honest, I tend to switch it up depending what my body is feeling like. The recipe I share with you today is my go-to smoothie.

#3 – They make you feel great and keep you full all morning long. If you’re new to smoothies I know this is a common worry and people think they won’t keep you full – but if you make them the right way (see my 6 step to making a brilliant smoothie), trust me they will do. I’ve had 6ft 2″ builders and men in the army convert to smoothies in the morning and they all reported back that they were full all morning! If a breakfast can keep you full and keep your hunger at bay, you’re far less likely to reach for something less healthy which doesn’t make you feel as good and it means you can concentrate and be the best version of yourself.

Berries, spinach and frozen raspberries is my go-to smoothie combination in the morning - especially great for those new to the smoothie world as it tastes great but you've also crept in a couple of veggies in there, good quality protein and some healthy fats from the coconut. Yum.
Serves: 1
  • 1 handful frozen baby leaf spinach
  • 1 handful frozen raspberries
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 300ml filtered water
  • 1 tbsp acai powder
  • 1½ scoops vanilla plant protein
  • ¼ cucumber
  • sprinkling desiccated coconut
  1. Add al the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. Add more water if you prefer a more runnier consisteny.
  2. Drink through a metal straw to slow the smoothie drinking process down and enjoy every strawful!
