Why juice cleanse?
Juicing is all the rage at the moment and will be for a long while to come! I get asked about juice fasting, whether it’s a good thing, what are the pros, is it something I do, so here’s a post on the subject to let you know my thoughts…. I got a juicer for my 18th birthday, a whole 8 years ago and have been juicing ever since religously! I LOVE it and as do my clients that try it out with the recipes I give them. I have designed a few juice ranges for juice delivery companies and cafes and adored every bit of the ‘job’. I created tasty recipes that served specific purposes in the body like being digestion or liver supportive or super alkalising, presented my creations to tasting panels and got paid to drink and create juices all day long! What a dream job! If you’re new to juicing, in a nutshell, by juice “fasting” (i.e. drinking rather than eating), you’re giving your body bonus time to sweep up and throw out the debris that’s built up over the weeks, months or even years depending when your last internal spring clean was and how clean your diet is. It’ll also satisfy you from your taste buds to your toes almost immediately after you’ve drunk a freshly prepared juice. There’s nothing like it. Here are some of the more specific benefits:
Your body can continue it’s night long fast and extend the time it spends in cleanse and repair mode which your inners and outers will thank you for. By leaving out the fibre of the fruits & veggies, it means that your digestive system can go on an extended holiday and the vitamins, minerals, oxygen, chlorophyll & living enzymes can whizz straight passed GO and into your bloodstream for onward distribution to where they’re most needed.
Juicing is a surefire way to pack plant nourishment into your day and reap all their plant-powered goodness. Green leafy veg, fruits, herbs & spices are all rather super, and will kick the nutrients in your glass into high gear for your body to soak up and enjoy. Juicing is one of the finest ways to fast track your body into reaching peak health so that your body’s systems can go about their daily duties in the most healthiest of ways.
By giving your body everything it needs and cutting out the foods your body has grown to love over the years (think coffee, alcohol, processed sugar, meat and anything moo), which often do more damage than good it can give your brain the liquid nutrition and time out it needs to regain mental clarity and untangle any food attachments you’re dealing with so you can get back on track with your purpose…and that’s leading a healthy, happy, fruitful (of the cold pressed kind) life.
